I’m Pier, a drummer, composer, and Jazz Drum teacher at the Conservatory of Salerno. Music is my life, but it is my connection with stone, wood, and traditional craftsmanship that has taught me the most precious harmony: the one between creativity and nature.

I’ve always been drawn to the charm of ancient dwellings and their hidden potential, to beauty in all its forms — passions I’ve shared for 35 years with Corinne.

Corinne, teacher, and director of the renowned music school Château Musique in Rome, has shared the same vision for over 35 years: bringing together beauty, authenticity, and hospitality.

On March 3rd, 2022, I accompanied Corinne to see her birthday gift: an intact trullo, preserved for more than 500 years and surrounded by almond trees, centuries-old olive trees, and fruit trees. That day, we immersed ourselves in it… and inevitably, we fell in love.

After three years dedicated to understanding its construction techniques and carrying out a respectful, conservation-minded restoration, we decided to open the doors of our Trullo to those who wish to experience something different: an authentic, essential, regenerating stay — a return to the origins, to the natural rhythm of things.

Why Trullo Jazzo ?

A jazzo is a traditional public stone enclosure built along the ancient tratturi of transhumance and used as a shelter for flocks.

The name jazzo may derive from the Latin iaceo, meaning “to lie down.” This etymology reflects their function as stations where shepherds and their flocks could rest during their seasonal migrations.

It is therefore a public space devoted to welcome, exchange, and sharing.

There is also a magical resonance between “jazzo” and “jazz”: both words evoke connection, improvisation, and listening. Just as jazz is born from the encounter of different instruments and cultures, our Trullo Jazzo was born from the meeting of past and present, of the authenticity of tradition and the creative freedom of art.

Today, Trullo Jazzo welcomes anyone wishing to rediscover that natural rhythm made of silence, light, and beauty.
